Cheap Treadmills – How To Find A Budget Treadmill Bargain

The old addage “you get what you pay for” rings as true when it comes to buying exercise equipment as it does with anything else. That’s not to say that you can not find a good bargain treadmill out there if you are willing to spend some time comparison shopping and doing the research but if you just jump on the price tag rather than doing said research, you are almost sure to be disappointed.

Cheap treadmills, the kind you find in supermarkets and non-specialist retail outlets for under £200, are often not the kind of bargain buy they might first appear. Budget treadmills like these are often of a poor build quality, have very limited computerised readouts, feedback and built-in programs (the kind of thing which keeps your workout interesting), short warrantees, weak motors (if indeed they even HAVE a motor!) and are generally the worst kind of treadmill which end up being nothing short of disappointing.

That is not to say, however, that you need to rush out and spend £2000 on a running machine with all the bells and whistles to get a good one, but that if you are looking for a good cheap inexpensive treadmill then there are better alternatives.

Finding Discount Treadmills Online

The internet is a great place to find treadmills below retail price. Low overheads etc. allow online e-tailers to offer very competitive prices and better still for you, as the consumer, you get to comparison shop between all those discounted prices to find some real bargains.

A good place to start looking online for discount treadmills is at Amazon.co.uk, possibly somewhere you’d never have thought to look for something like a running machine. Amazon always offers some great prices on all kinds of exercise equipment and their range of discount price treadmills are no exception to this rule. Better still, you can read what other customers are saying about your prospective purchase to see whether it has any potential issues. Some of the current awesome discounted offerings include:

Branx Fitness Elite Runner Pro Treadmill Review

Why buy a cheap treadmill when you can find quality like this at such a great price. With a manufacturer’s RRP of £1,950 but sold here at less than half that, this is a fantastic bargain price. Great for runners, this treadmill has a large shock absorbant running deck, heavy duty 5 HP motor with a 20kph maximum speed, 48 built in fitness programs and superb peace of mind warrantee offering 5 full years parts and labour and 10 years on the motor. Highly rated by Amazon customers and a steal at this price.

York T201 Treadmill Review

Here’s a great treadmill below £500 (down from a manufacturer’s retail price of £999) and another bargain price for a highly rated machine. The T201 Treadmill from York features a cushioned running deck, 0 – 10% incline which can be set to change in relation to your heartrate, or easily adjusted along with the speed through the handrails, Mp3 plugin so you can listen to music while you workout and 9 programs to keep things interesting. A great quality running machine at the price of a budget low cost treadmill.

Another place to look for a good treadmill deal is using one of the many price comparison search engines out there to compare treadmill prices across numerous sites which sell running machines and other forms of exercise equipment. One of my personal favorites to compare treadmill prices in the UK is Kelkoo…simply plug in your search terms and it’ll find products to match those terms and compare the cost across various sites.

If you can deal with a used treadmill or a refurbished one, then you might like to also try some of the more active second hand treadmill outlets online. The usual suspects include ebay and craiglist for savings of up to 80% off the retail price or more. If you’re lucky, you can find a virtually new treadmill with barely any use for ridiculously cheap prices. You do need to be careful about not buying yourself a dud but there are some definite signs to look out for to avoid this which I wrote about in one of my other guides to buying used treadmills and not getting burned.
